My head, hands and heart work with clay – the material of the earth. Some of my sculpture is made of high fired earthernware clay painted with acrylics. This figurative and narrative work invites you to cross the threshold into a world that has the power to enchant. Other work carries messages from the sea, sky and earth – the earthernware clay fired in an outdoor kiln. For special pieces my sculptures’ form is also expressed by the purity of porcelain clay. Commissions are welcomed.

I work with painted fabrics, print and thread to produce mainly wall-pieces, using hand and free machine embroidery but concentrating on the hand stitched mark. Wind of the spirit blows through all and informs all. At present I am studying for my MA Fine Art History at Aberystwyth.

I was born and raised in Criccieth, a small seaside resort in North Wales. After over forty years seafaring and living all over the world I have returned to my home town.
While on ocean voyages I have always painted, mostly seascapes, shorelines and pictures of the area where I grew up. I also take commsission for portrait which I undertake from photos/sittings. I am self taught and have been slowly developing my own style. I create bright, colourful scenes and stylistic figures.
My Great Uncle, the late William Cadwalader, was a well known local artist and I have recently bought and refurbrished his studio which was built by my Grandfather around 1930.
You can visit the studio and see my paintings on display. Just phone beforehand or knock on the door.
